You might have one minute on the stage, you might have twenty, but making an award acceptance speech at a ceremony or a gala is a singularly challenging task regardless of how long the speech is.
Why? Because you have to find a way to talk about yourself without talking about yourself. Plus you have to thank people without sending the audience to sleep.
At The Oratory Laboratory, we see an award speech as an opportunity to achieve a number of different objectives beyond just a humble display of gratitude - from personal brand promotion to motivational, inspirational or simply educational speeches that leave a memorable takeaway from the evening. It doesn’t have to be a hashtag and a movement but we’re open to trying!
